Dutch National Ballet presents 'Ballerina'Dance / Amsterdam
May 14-20 2014, 8.15pm
The Dutch National Ballet will be putting the spotlight on their own principal male and female dancers during the performances of Ballerina in Amsterdam!
Recently, six of the Dutch National Ballet's principal dancers made it onto the list of the top 100 international dancers as determined by the magazine Dance Europe. This prestigious designation is a reflection of the dancers' own dedication to their craft and natural artistic abilities.
As they have been increasingly invited to perform around the world and at international galas, the Dutch National Ballet has developed the string of performances named Ballerina to allow these amazing individuals to show the Netherlands their ability.
The first part of the programme will be formed by one of the Dutch National Ballet's newest productions, the Grand Pas Classique from Paquita. Set in a Spanish court inspired by the Alhambra, the choreography is demanding, calling for both strenuous technical ability and elegance.
A second part of the evening will see the company's principal dancers performing a number of classical and neo-classical duets.
